My Top 5 Limassol Beaches

The Limassol area has several beaches along its long coastline with the prestigious Blue Flag award for clean waters and beach facilities. My top 5 are all Blue Flag beaches.

1. Kourion Beach

Kourion beach is approximately 17 km west of Limassol. The water is crystal clear at this beach, sometimes with strong waves which permits surfing. The beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles with three beach restaurants along the stretch. I highly recommend Chris Blue Beach Restaurant for its quality and choice of food.

2. Governor's Beach/Palm Beach

This stretch of coastline is situated about 20 km east of Limassol with stunning white rocks, sandy beaches and calm, clean sea water. Palm Beach is picture number 4 below.

Kalymnos Fish Tavern and café are situated above Governor's Beach. Follow the sign for Kalymnos Fish Tavern for access to Palm Beach.

3. St Raphael/Malindi Beach.

Malindi Beach Bar & Restaurant is located on the beach and Sailor's Rest Restaurant is beside St. Raphael Marina.

This area is also ideal for an evening stroll, with a path which stretches along part of the coastline.

4. Dasoudi Beach

Dasoudi beach is in the Germasogeia area of Limassol in the heart of the tourist area. It is easily accessible with a large car park for those arriving by car and a nearby bus route. There are a number of cafés and beach restaurants, with a play area for children.

5. Aphrodite Beach

Located in the area of Agios Tychonas, Aphrodite Beach has a stretch of soft sand and is home to West Water Sports. There are showers and toilets nearby, with disabled access.

The PUESTA Oyster Bar & Grill is within a couple of minutes' walking distance from the beach.

During the hot summer months of July and August, it is best to keep in the shade between 11am and 4pm. Remember, apply loads of sun cream and take extra care if you have fair skin! Cyprus weather is hotter than other European destinations, with temperatures of over 30 in the morning and evening, especially during August.
