Peaceful Saturday

The first of November this year was the hottest November day ever recorded in Cyprus: 34.3 degrees in Kouris. I did not expect, therefore, to see much water in Larnaca's Salt Lake today due to the unusually high temperatures, but I was surprised that there was no water, and consequently no flamingos! The dry salt lake, however, lends a unique blend of colour to the landscape.

Shots of the outskirts of Larnaca. Mackenzie Beach is still open for business!

I also drove to the village of Kellia near Larnaca, stopping off at Agios Antonios Byzantine church and the peaceful surroundings of Panagia Eleousa Church.

I hope you've had a day in which to relax and renew your strength. With all that is going on in the world, this peace is not taken for granted. We can only pray for God's intervention to end wars and protect lives.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:9
